Hi, I’m Martin Filippov, an English language teacher working with students of all ages from children to adults. I help learners improve their grammar, speaking, writing, and listening skills, and also prepare for school exams, international tests, or work and university-related needs.
I’m also a PhD student, and I believe that learning English doesn’t have to be stressful or boring. With the right explanation and the smart use of modern tools, learning can be clear, enjoyable, and effective. I use the latest Apple and Android devices, including MacBook, iPad with Apple Pencil, Google Docs, and interactive programs to make lessons visual, structured, and easy to follow. All notes, exercises, and homework are saved and shared after each lesson, so everything is always available for review for students and parents.
Over the years, I’ve worked with students from across Europe and beyond — including Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Canada, and the US. Some need help with school English, while others prepare for important exams like Cambridge English (B1, B2, C1, C2 levels), IELTS, TOEFL, and other international language tests. Many of my students have successfully passed these exams and gone on to study at schools and universities where English is the main language.
My lessons are always adapted to the individual. I take time to explain everything step by step, we practice together in real time, and I make sure the student understands before moving on. Lessons are held on Zoom or Google Meet, with the help of interactive whiteboards, smart apps, and shared documents creating a smooth and modern learning experience.
I speak English, Estonian, and Russian fluently, and hold language certificates, so I can clearly explain everything in the language that suits the student best.

IN THE LESSON
During the lesson, the screen will be shared with the student so both the teacher and student can write, solve problems, and work together in real time. The teacher will guide the student step-by-step through the tasks, whether on the digital whiteboard or directly in the textbook. Students are also encouraged to actively write on the screen, just like in a real classroom.
After the lesson, all materials — including notes, solutions, and exercises — will be shared with the student, so nothing is lost and everything can be reviewed later. The teacher remains available every day on social media or messaging apps to answer any questions related to the lesson or to clarify any topics that need more explanation.

I work as a teacher at Tallinn French Lyceum and Tallinn English College, and I also support students online. So far, I’ve taught over 3,000 students, many of whom have gone on to study at top schools and universities in Estonia and abroad.
I don’t believe in simply memorizing formulas or grammar rules without truly understanding them. My lessons are all about clear explanations, hands-on practice, and step-by-step thinking. I also integrate the latest technology from powerful computers and programming tools to artificial intelligence — to make learning more engaging and effective.
