MATHEMATICS FOR CHILDREN
Hi, I’m Martin Filippov, a mathematics teacher at Tallinn English College and Tallinn French Lyceum. I work with students of all ages, but I especially love helping younger children in primary school build a strong and positive foundation in math. After school I work with private students from grades 1 to 12, offering fun, interactive, and supportive lessons that match each child’s learning style.
Whether your child needs help learning to count, mastering times tables, understanding word problems, or simply gaining confidence in math, I’m here to support them step by step. My goal is to make math enjoyable and stress-free, even for children who find it tricky at first.
I’m also a PhD student, and my research focuses on how children can learn better using computers and AI tools. I believe that when used the right way, technology can make learning easier, more visual, and more exciting for younger students. I use fun, child-friendly programs like GeoGebra and Desmos, as well as visual simulations to help kids see how math works in real life.
Over the years, I’ve taught over 3,000 students across Europe — many of them in early grades — helping them discover that math is not scary, but actually fun and full of logic and patterns. I’ve worked with children as young as 6, and always take the time to explain things in a simple, friendly way that’s easy for kids to follow.
All lessons are customized to your child’s age and level, using tools like Zoom or Google Meet, my M4 iPad with Apple Pencil, and screen sharing to work on problems together in real time. I also send parents all the notes, solutions, and extra practice materials after each session, so they can see exactly what was covered and how their child is improving.
I teach from a professional studio with great sound and video quality, so even young learners stay focused and feel like they’re in the same room with me. I speak Estonian, English, and Russian fluently, so I can explain math clearly to children in the language they feel most comfortable with.
I’m available every day from 07:00 to 23:00 and offer flexible online bookings through my website. Let’s work together to build your child’s math skills, confidence, and curiosity — one step at a time!
IN THE LESSON
During the lesson, the screen will be shared with the student so both the teacher and student can write, solve problems, and work together in real time. The teacher will guide the student step-by-step through the tasks, whether on the digital whiteboard or directly in the textbook. Students are also encouraged to actively write on the screen, just like in a real classroom.
After the lesson, all materials — including notes, solutions, and exercises — will be shared with the student, so nothing is lost and everything can be reviewed later. The teacher remains available every day on social media or messaging apps to answer any questions related to the lesson or to clarify any topics that need more explanation.
To ensure the best possible learning experience, the teacher uses the latest technology and all the top premium educational platforms. This approach guarantees that everything is presented clearly, visually, and in a way that helps the student easily understand and remember what they've learned.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR THE BEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The teacher uses the latest technology and a studio environment to maximize lesson efficiency and avoid technical issues and other distractions.

TEACHER MARTIN FILIPPOV

I work as a teacher at Tallinn French Lyceum and Tallinn English College, and I also support students online. So far, I’ve taught over 3,000 students, many of whom have gone on to study at top schools and universities in Estonia and abroad.
I don’t believe in simply memorizing formulas or grammar rules without truly understanding them. My lessons are all about clear explanations, hands-on practice, and step-by-step thinking. I also integrate the latest technology from powerful computers and programming tools to artificial intelligence — to make learning more engaging and effective.
My students have access to a wide range of tech tools, books, and learning materials to support their growth.
